Known Circumstances: Avery Blakeley was last seen about 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2009. He had been playing in the yard while his mother and aunt moved items from their trailer home near Pine Creek - about 35 miles south of Spokane in northern Whitman County. He was reported missing when they could not find him in the yard. Deputies, firefighters, volunteers from local towns and two helicopters were called in to help comb the area.
Pine Creek, which at that time was high with debris-filled muddy water, located near where Avery was last seen was searched as one of Avery’s red sippers was found on the bank of the creek. Extensive searches were made of the creek and surrounding area by search and rescue teams, including divers.

Officials found no evidence that Avery was abducted and they believe he wandered off from the home and fell into the creek and presumed he had drowned. No body was ever found and Avery is still listed as missing.
